Chicken Big (Tej Khanna, Ibhan Kulkarni, and Lars Montanaro) is a Brooklyn-based comedy trio that produces and performs improv, clown, and experimental comedy experiences.

They are a house team at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective and have been featured performers at Second City NYC, UCB, Asylum NYC, The PIT, iO Chicago, The Annoyance, and Logan Square Improv.

FEASTMACHINE is an original hour of clown devised and performed by Chicken Big that debuted at the inaugural PhysFestNYC ('24).

The show is more than a piece of theater -- it is another rich chapter in Chicken Big’s meteoric rise to wealth, status, and fame. A get-rich-quick scheme masquerading as a comedy show, FEASTMACHINE features the debut of Chicken Big’s groundbreaking new line of human-integrated kitchen devices, such as the Human Piñata™, the Human Blender™, and more.

Chicken Big offers improv and performance workshops for all levels. Our improv pedagogy follows the approach popularized by Mick Napier then brought to Brooklyn by Philip Markle of the Brooklyn Comedy Collective. Our clown pedagogy is composed from a collection of teachers, including Avner Eisenberg, Jean Taylor, and Carlo Jacucci.

Chicken Big has taught workshops atThe Brooklyn Comedy Collective, Oberlin College, and New York University. The members of Chicken Big have experience teaching improv, standup, and clown at The New School, New York University, PhysFest NYC @ the Stella Adler Studios, and Pump Up: The Jam.

Workshop Offerings

Chicken Big offers a number of workshops:

Improv For Beginners, which introduces the participants to basic scene structure and characterization, culminating in a group scene where the participants can practice putting these tools to use. This workshop is designed for individuals who are new to the practice of improv comedy.

Deal-Based Performance, which explores the concept of performing with a "deal." This explores more advanced forms of scene initiation and characterization. This workshop is designed for intermediate improvisers.

Clown for Improv, which is a unique workshop that introduces clown concepts and their applications in improv performance. This workshop teaches the participants how to play with Chicken Big's 4th wall breaking performance style, and how clown techniques can make our improv more sensitive and more surprising.This workship is designed for intermediate to advanced improvisers.
